Well if you chose to get the speed boost you can run though into the bricks on your right untill you hit a shaft then press down and shine spark up the go left and use the rio speed trick to get past this room. you will notice the pillar is gone anyways even though kraid hasn't even touched it. once you get in the room fire a missile then jump silghly fire again then jump and fire again you must do this quickly.you will notice the pillar ir whatever it is call is still there because you killed kraid before he destroyed the pillar. It is possible to kill kraid in less than 10 seconds with super missiles that you can get from anywhere. I know this has been discovered already and later by me.
